CNG filling station refers to a place where fuel is provided to natural gas vehicles in the form of compressed natural gas (CNG). It is usually divided into conventional stations, mother stations and sub-stations. The main equipment of CNG filling stations includes compressors, gas storage tanks, dryers, gas dispensers and safety systems, etc.
Main equipment and its functions
Compressor: This is the core equipment of CNG filling station, which sucks natural gas from the gas supply pipeline and compresses it to high pressure (usually about 2000 to 3600 psi).
Gas storage tank: It is used to store compressed natural gas until it is needed and then distributed.
Dryer: It removes water vapor from natural gas to prevent corrosion of storage containers and vehicles.
Gas dispenser: Similar to a gasoline pump, it meters the gas and adjusts the flow to safely inflate the vehicle.
Safety system: It includes leak containment system, fire detection and extinguishing system and emergency shut-off system to ensure the safe operation of the gas station.
