A hydrogen generator is a device that produces hydrogen through a specific device. Its core principle is to decompose water into hydrogen and oxygen through the process of water electrolysis. Specifically, the hydrogen generator generates hydrogen by passing an electric current through water to decompose water molecules into hydrogen ions and oxygen ions.
Types and principles of hydrogen generators
Liquid ammonia decomposition method: This method uses liquid ammonia as a raw material, and finally obtains a mixture of 75% hydrogen and 25% ammonia through a process of decompression, vaporization and decomposition. The mixed gas needs to pass through a purification system to remove moisture and other impurities to achieve high-purity hydrogen.
Water electrolysis method: This is a common method used by household hydrogen generators, including alkaline electrolysis and pure water electrolysis. Alkaline electrolysis requires the addition of strong alkalis such as potassium hydroxide to water to increase conductivity, while pure water electrolysis uses pure water, and the hydrogen and oxygen produced are separated, which is suitable for direct inhalation of pure hydrogen.
